Environmental pollution
Environmental pollution is any discharge of material or energy into water, land, or air that causes or may cause acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) detriment to the Earth's ecological balance or that lowers the quality of life. Pollutants may cause primary damage, with direct identifiable impact on the environment, or secondary damage in the form of minor perturbations in the delicate balance of the biological food web that are detectable only over long time periods.
Different types of pollution are as follows:
1. Pollution
2. Water Pollution
3. Thermal Pollution
4. Land Pollution
5. Pesticide Pollution
6. Radiation Pollution
7. Noise Pollution
8. Air Pollution
Plantation is not just planting trees but also maintaining the environment & keeping it clean. Tree planting is the process of transplanting tree seedlings, generally for forestry, land reclamation, or landscaping purposes. It differs from the transplantation of larger trees in arboriculture, and from the lower cost but slower and less reliable distribution of tree seeds. On World Earth Day, 22nd April, 2013 we organised a workshop at a school in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh where students participated in it & competitions related to plants were also organised. The aim of the day was to inspire awareness & appreciation for the Earth & the environment by planting trees, slogan to stop cutting trees and animal hunting which creates imbalance in our Ecology.
